Team of the Week – Europe #25

Team of the Week – Europe #25

Mar 15, 2021 | News, Team of the Week

Another Monday, another Team of the Week. ORTEC Sports collected the best players from Germany (Round #25), Spain and Italy (round #27), England (round #28) and France (Round #29) based on specific statistics.

For this round, the Team of the Week consists of the most successful offensive passers, based on our build-up statistics. These are the players with the most passes completed on the opponents half during the weekend.

Optimize your stats

Optimize your stats:

– This week, Inter Milan provides the most players to the Team with a total of 3 players! On average their were positioned very aggressively last weekend, which might help explain their dominance in this stat.

– The best scoring player this week is the right back Morey Bauzà with 75 passes on the opponent’s half. Although Bauzà started as right back for Borussia Dortmund his average position is on the opponent’s half, which would explain his amount of completed passes on the opponents half.

– For the goalkeeper we went with Monaco’s Lecomte. Lecomte made 2 passes on the opponents half, which for a goalkeeper is impressive enough to choose him on that stat over save statistics.

– We can also look at the rate of completed passes on the opponent’s half. This week there have been a lot of players who have completed a 100% of their passes on the opponent’s half, however most of these are due to a very low pass count. The most remarkable however is Jason Denayer from Lyon with 24 completed passes out of 24 attempted.

– Another statistic we can focus on is forward passes completed. The highest scorers in the Big 5 leagues this week were Leicester city’s Jonatan Evan’s and Emre Can of Borussia Dortmund, both with 70 forward passes completed.

When we look at the whole season, the following players lead the way in the Big 5 leagues for completed passes on the opponent half:

Lionel Messi

FC Barcelona

Andrew Robertson

Frenkie de Jon

Jordi Alba

ORTEC Sports Tactic Tree

The ORTEC Sports Team of the Week is released every Monday and will present the best performing players on a specific aspect of the Tactic Tree. The Tactic Tree is used to categorize statistics into the two main stages of a game: ‘being in possession’ and the counterpart ‘possession opponent’, both divided into 4 subcategories.

Every week we pick one statistic that is used in a subcategory and based on that statistic the best scoring players on each position will be presented in the team of the week.
