Team of the Week – Europe #26

Jun 30, 2020 | News, Team of the Week

This weekend we saw the last round of the Bundesliga. ORTEC Sports collected the best players from Spain (round #32), Germany (round #34), Italy (round #28) and England (round #32) based on specific statistics.

For this round, the Team of the Week consists of the most aggressive passers, based on our build up-statistics. These are the players with the most completed passes on the opponent half.

Optimize your stats

– There are three teams with two players in the team: Napoli, Juventus, and FC Barcelona.

– The best scoring player this week is Éver Banega of Sevilla, with 61 completed passes on the opponent half.

– Only one spot in the team is occupied by a Bundesliga player: RB Leipzig goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo was the only keeper with a pass on the other half.

Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona has now been featured in three Teams of the Week in a row. Last week, he was the right winger with the most attacking duels won. The week before that, he was one of the players with the most key actions.

– We can also look at attempted passes on the opponent half. The right back of the Team of the Week Juan Cuadrado (Juventus) scored highest with 72 passes attempted.

– Another statistic we can focus on is attempted passes own half. The highest scorer in the Big 5 leagues this week was Sven Bender of Bayer Leverkusen.

When we look at the whole season, the following players lead the way in the Spanish, German, Italian and English leagues for completed passes on the opponent half:

ORTEC Sports Tactic Tree

The ORTEC Sports Team of the Week is released every Monday and will present the best performing players on a specific aspect of the Tactic Tree. The Tactic Tree is used to categorize statistics into the two main stages of a game: ‘being in possession’ and the counterpart ‘possession opponent’, both divided into 4 subcategories.

Every week we pick one statistic that is used in a subcategory and based on that statistic the best scoring players on each position will be presented in the team of the week.
